Previously the well known Dreams Puerto Vallarta resort , the project was an extensive renovation, additions, and re-branding as the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. Lauded as the most beautiful and private beach in the PV destination, the property is exceptional yet the hotel was no longer keeping pace with market competition and required substantial reinvestment.

LHDI was retained for the architectural design work, while Playa Hotels & Resorts executed Project and Construction Management. The entire project works, including design and construction were executed in less than 9 months. Because the resort work was done between two high seasons, the loss of revenue for the operator/ owners was minimized.

The hotel central facilities were completely demolished to make way for a brand new Contemporary Mexican Themed three level building located in the middle of the resort property. The CFB included a new open air lobby experience, themed lobby bar, coffee shop, convention/ conference facilities, and new food & beverage outlets. The most spectacular element of the new main building is the rooftop Spa, with spectacular hydrotherapy pool and exceptionally appointed oversized treatment rooms. Other notable features include the two level infinity pools and wet bar; both benefiting from views of the setting sun and the very active whales and dolphins who often appear along the pristine beach. In addition, The resort standard room tower was completely renovated, including bright new chic suites with larger bathrooms and all new layouts.
