LLANDOVERY ESTATES JAMAICA

Almost 1,100 acres in total, Llandovery Estates is one of Jamaica’s largest privately owned undeveloped parcels of beachfront land. In addition to its massive size, Llandovery is unique in that it is rich with historical features including a beautiful sugar plantation ruin, has a powerful and famous river running down the property tall hills to the ocean, and has a spectacular topography of rolling hills and mesas.

LHDI was commissioned to study the property with a view to creating a new resort destination development for Jamaica, establish a development brief, master plan the project, and finally to produce architectural concepts for many of the project components. The resulting master plan and design concept includes a large sugar plantation themed family resort hotel, a smaller English Caribbean themed Boutique Hotel, a Riverside Village of shops and restaurants, as well as a golf course, signature spa, and clusters of luxury residences all aligned with the property’s topography.

LHDI worked closely with the property owners to restore significant historical features in Llandovery, while enhancing them with clusters of new development aimed at creating a unique, marketable, and memorable resort experience.
