When the Government of Jamaica acquired over 2,500 acres of stunningly beautiful rolling beachfront property along the North Coast of Jamaica, they hoped to launch a significant Tourist Destination for the country; something strong enough to set new standards for the hospitality industry and also to attract new foreign investment. The Development Bank of Jamaica spearheaded the entire project development process including initial land acquisition, retention of all design consultants, and ultimately assisted in securing development partners.
LHDI was contacted and retained to produce master planning concepts, preliminary architectural design and initial branding studies for the entire project. When this initial work was completed, which was accomplished in just 8 frenetic weeks, LHDI was further retained to produce schematic building design, resort branding, and to provide assistance in securing investment partners and hotel operators. LHDI assembled and lead an impressive team of designers and consultants in the design stages; with very special thanks to MODE Architects of Jamaica.
Harmony Cove is conceived and designed as luxury Destination Development, with 5 themed luxury resort hotels, the largest casino in the country, 2 unique and impressive PGA golf courses, approximately 450 luxury residences and villas; a signature spa and wellness center, and a spectacular iconic marina/ marina village. Great care was taken to ensure the architectural and interior design solutions are authentically Jamaican and reflective of the unique and rich flavor of the country and in elevate ‘Brand Jamaica’.
