Located in one of the most beautiful and serene seaside properties in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Barcelo’s La Jolla de Mismaloya had enjoyed a long tradition of guest satisfaction and was well known for its quality, but required some upgrading and improvements. LHDI /TLDI were retained to renovate and expand the project in a very short time frame so that re-opening could be accomplished without missing a high season.

Clearly a ‘fast track’ project, the design team worked with the demolition and re-construction team while simultaneously re-designing the new suites and property outlets, on the spot.

The project includes redesigning and renovating 179 guest suites, renovations to restaurants, and the design of an all new signature spa. LHDI acted as architects and interior designers for the renovation, choosing a contemporary but chic design style that complements the natural beauty of Mismaloya Bay and is in character with the local architecture.
